TYGA HAS KNEE SURGERY!!
Tyga, our precious little Lhasa Apso had to recently have knee surgery called a cruciate repair.
This unfortunately is major surgery and will require six to eight weeks of bed rest and very little exercise. The surgery was $1516.44 to keep the little guy out of pain and walking. If you can chip in even a few dollars, we would be very grateful for your kindness, as I'm sure Tyga would as well.
On another note, we are desperate for transport help. Can you spare just one hour a week (or more if you'd like) to help us transport dogs in need? We may need to move dogs from one foster home to another, a shelter to a foster home or even just a "leg" in a transport route. No vehicle is too small. If you are able to help with transporting dogs, or if you go to your cottage weekly, or travel for business and wouldn't mind a four-legged friend to tag along, please emal me at brenda@loyalrescue.com for more details. THANK YOU!

And now, a few words from me:
My name is Tyga, and I'm a 4 year old, 27lb, beautiful Lhasa Apso boy. I am looking for new guardians who will commit to taking care of me for the next 10-15 years. I have been a loyal and wonderful companion to my family. Unfortunately I am not comfortable sharing a home with small children. I'm a pretty happy go lucky guy, but am a bit apprehensive when confronted with new people and situations, and I am hoping to find a home where my new people will be keen on helping me work on these things. It's a good thing I'm really food motivated!
My mom and dad are really sad that they have to find a new home for me, they have taken very good care of me, and love me very much. I am so happy to see them when they come home from work. I love to sit on the sofa, and get a good rub, or even better a nice massage. I love to cuddle and relax! I just love my Nylabones too. Being a Lhasa, I will let you know when someone approaches the house. I currently live with another dog, and perhaps would like share my new digs with another pooch if the chemistry is there. If my new people worked part time, or even better worked from home would be fantastic. A home without cats would probably be good, since I have never been exposed to them.
Like all Lhasas, I respond well to positive training methods. Did I mention I was very food motivated? :) If you think I'm the guy for you, fill out an application so we can talk!
Many dogs that arrive in rescue come with absolutely nothing - no toys to play with, no blanket to sleep on, no food, no collar or leash. All these are required for each and every dog we care for daily. Any and all donations welcome - toys, blankets, sheets, towels, dog beds, crates, leashes and collars, food and mostly a monetary donation. The dogs will be forever greatful.
Email communication is preferred and the quickest way to get a response.
News
Please consider a donation to LOYAL Rescue. Who We Are
We are a group of individuals who foster dogs in our own homes. WE ARE NOT A SHELTER and we do not have hours of operation. We do not have one location where dogs can be viewed. Please remember this when you apply to adopt a dog - they could be fostered anywhere in the province of Ontario. We are always looking for more foster homes so we can save more dogs. Would you consider fostering a dog in desperate need? Please e-mail for more details.
Adopting a friend
The dogs on the next pages are all up for adoption unless their status has changed to Adoption Pending. There is an adoption application that must be completed including references and a home visit required. This application can be downloaded at www.loyalrescue.com and returned through email to loyalrescue@netscape.ca.
We welcome all applictions but consider only what is in the best interest of the dog in our care - we do not adopt out on a first application received gets the dog basis. The process can take anywhere from one week to ........... well, who knows. We will check your references and if we have trouble connecting with the, this may delay the process. We will call your vet, so PLEASE, if you are applying to adopt, please call your vet as well and let them know to expect the call and that it's ok to release information to LOYAL Rescue as most vets will not discuss their patients without prior consent. If during the process you find another dog, please let us know so we can move onto another application. Every volunteer with LOYAL Rescue is just that - a volunteer, and most have full-time jobs and a family to take care of, in addition to the volunteer work. We have to use our time wisely so would appreciate knowing if your application should no longer be processed.
FOSTER HOMES NEEDED!
All of our dogs are housed in private homes. We do not have a facility that you can view all the dogs at one time and are always in need of more foster homes. If you have an interest in a specific dog, please download an adoption application at www.loyalrescue.com. Once the application is received back by LOYAL Rescue, we will give you a call to answer any specific questions you may have and if all goes forward, schedule a time to visit the dog.
